With pking removed in December 2007, Che vents on how Jagex went about removing it, and what it was replaced with.

Ok. So we have all heard rants and complaints about the changes Jagex made. Taking away Pking, adding BH, Clan Wars, etc. But for once, I think I have a logical argument as to what went wrong besides the “OMG LOL HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MAKE MONEYS?” and the “WHY YOU DO DAT? HIT SYSTUM RESTUR!!!!” arguments. Hear me out.

My main problem with these updates are in fact that Jagex didn’t give us any warning before doing it. I know that that takes away the ability to buy money before the deadline, but most of us deal better with being told something in advance. It is a lot easier to say goodbye to a friend if he tells you he is moving a month before he does rather than calling you as he is packing. People logged onto their accounts to find that they were in a wilderness that was safe (kind of… read on). They were shocked. Shocking events usually have worse responses than planned out events. This isn’t really a problem with the update (I find most of it actually better, as a person who blew at pking…) but more of a problem of execution.

A bit late, I know, but still.

Now onto Part 2: Revenants.

I feel that revenants were not the way to make the wilderness perilous again. To me, they make the wilderness more dangerous than before. Of course, the wilderness was no cake walk with pking, but it was simple to escape pkers. Not every pker had ice barrage, or could teleblock and freeze. The revenants may not be in strategic places, but if they find you, they will follow you. I once picked up a level 120 some revenant in the level 50+ wilderness. It followed me from Ardy Lever to the Rogue’s Castle.

Basically, I am ranting because revenants get on my nerves.

I don’t really have solution for them except weaken them… or something.

Anyways, until next time,
