Why did I start playing? One of the first best friends I had in grade seven was playing; I never really had any friends in 6th grade, so it was nice to have a friend, and so I decided to play the games he plays. But the funny thing is I never really got addicted. Sure, I wanted to play, and must have played a lot for 2 months or so. Perhaps the reason is that I tried other games which I liked. I started at a reasonably addicting game, and slowly returned to less addicting games until I started playing such a boring game that I gave up online gaming for good. Just today, I thought back to my days of runescape (now 4 years ago) and decided to create an account and start playing (I lost my old account). But having seen these comments, I've decided that it's not worth it; I should do the things that will be useful for me. I hope that others take the same thing away from these comments as well. How to prevent addiction? I think the best thing is to play less addicting games; many online games have the "same old thing going on" (i.e. the same objectives). Play these games until you get bored, and soon you'll stop playing online games altogether. But I think ultimately the real deal is to be mentally strong; prevent your urge to go to the computer for runescape. If you do that for a few days, you'll find that you don't want to go there to play. And make sure you don't start playing again and fuel your addiction. Throw away your old account if you have the mental strength to do so. On the other hand, however, you can play that game if you like, but you should remember that it isn't going to drive your life forward. Perhaps that's the best thing to remember when reducing/terminating your playing time. Here is my story:

I DO like runescape a lot but too many people think it's ruins your life. Don't throw everything away, just limit your playing time and make sure that you have better things to do. If you already are a sad sap with no friends quit, if your like my who has a girlfriend, a job and gets all a's and b's, and still finds an occasional period of time to hop onto runescape, do it! It's not that hard people you just have to not think about runescape and don't think óu could be the best because only homosexual fat greasy 40 virgin nerds can be the best and I hope the person reading this isn't on of them.
