Is RuneScape Help Doomed.. or Dead Already?

Posted by admin

I know it’s been a while since i posted an article on TRB and i thought that this might be the right time. With the new HD graphics update and all the changes that Runescape has concured this year. As you guys might know, or maybe you probably dont. You probably don’t but yeah, im the creator of RuneSociety and as an admin, im really starting to get the impression that Jagex is slowly killing off RuneScape Help. Why? Well, im not completely certian of course, and this article is mostly alot of my opinion instead of fact, but i think it will really make you think. Over the course of the years, RuneScape Help has been a driving factor in the growth of RuneScape. Even if someone doesn’t play the game itself, they would join a forum like RuneSociety and just simply hang out with the crowd and eventually get into the game at least a bit. So lets talk about some of the actions Jagex has taken and are taking to try and possibly destroy 3rd party help.

Runescape Economy - The Gold Coin

Posted by admin

Submitted by  Stasik50

My friends and me were once talking about earning GP, when I started wondering if it was possible for the value of the Gold Coin to decrease like the American Dollar. The more money in the sytem, the less that currency is worth, right? After a few minutes of pondering, I realized that this was not possible because the big “J” has implemented a few factors into the game that do not allow this to be possible.

The first one is probably obvious. The players with lots of gold quit and when they do, the money pretty much leaves the system because the coins will never go to another player who might be able to use it Of course, they may give it out in the Falador Party Room, but lower-leveled players leave the game even more often than the more higher ones. The second one is the one most players might not suspect…Summoning. “What do you mean?” you might ask. Where do the Spirit Shards and Pouches come from? Players can’t make them, and the only way you can actually acquire them is to buy from NPCs. Well where do the Coins go when you buy the shards and pouches? They get destroyed. And the amount of Shards and Pouches needed to get to 99 Summoning is 120 Million gp! The amount is never achieved by most players.

That’s all I could think of for now, and hopefully I have answered some of your guy’s questions out there :).

Graphical Update?…What we think.

Posted by admin

So by now most people have heard about the upcoming ten ton gorilla graphics update for runescape. To be honest, i think its about time something really good like this happened. For the past year or so, jagex has been getting a bad rep over RuneScape due to all the really radical changes they are making. Of course, thats a whole other issue and would be pointless to discuss in this issue. Anyway, to get back to the point. I think Jagex is finally going to get something right. If RuneScape wants to survive in the upcoming MMORPG heat, it needed to buff up its game. Jagex realized that if they didn’t cut the laziness and start working on something that will make people head back to RuneScape.. their pretty much over. After all, most people eventually move onto World of Warcraft (WoW) from RuneScape. Why? Although i don’t have a definite answer, i believe that it could be the possiblity of growing up a bit more. Like for example, as i started to learn more and started to hit age 14-15, i started to realize that there were alot better games out there. That are more fun and graphically more appealing, RuneScape’s visual appeal started to wear off on me and quite frankly, i got sick of it. Read more »

RuneScape: Just a Game… or an Addiction?

Posted by admin

December 2005 is when I first tasted RuneScape. Oh glorious and addicting RuneScape. It drove me in like drugs, I could never ever get enough. I would login with any spare time I had; after school ( sometimes even before school ), almost all of the weekends, and just generally any moment I had where I wasn’t seriously obligated to do anything. RuneScape started to take over my life with a fury. I soon started to get more of my friends to play it and that’s all we pretty much did, at school we would talk about RuneScape at least once in most of our conversations. Subjects such as “Omfg, I lost my full set of rune yesterday” or ” I got scammed or hacked” were not all that uncommon. It’s pretty much what our lives revolved around, RuneScape.
