I am proud to say I have experienced that Classic community first hand and I continue to on a regular basis (I can still log into Classic!).

The community truly has changed from a fun-loving family to a community that is tempered by negative themes; such as break-neck competitiveness.

I'm feeling sad because I don't think I have ever played on that community

I have to admit I automatically say "I don't know" to anyone who comes asking me things :$

Indeed, their behavior is more evident as the game grows to accommodate those who act that way.

I understand where you're coming from. As with any growing game, the more people you get, the higher the chance of coming across some truly obnoxious people.

That said, there's always ignore. If I keep getting better updates and 1 more person who provides quality conversation in game, I'll gladly trade that for just putting 5 annoying kids on ignore.

True, and without that extra profit, they would have no incentive to keep expanding the game/being able to expand the game.

So in a theory, all those immature players have helped RS expand to its modern size.

Agreed with Aaron (General Che Guevara), but it is the smart move for Jagex... more players = more profit = more annoying players

In my opinion, the real reason for this change is in fact RuneScape itself. Remember how much harder it was to train in RSC? Younger and more immature players had a harder time sticking to RuneScape because of its repetition. Now that training is easy, those that could not stand it in RSC can now stand it, and are over running those that are sensible and respectable.

Its a shame.
